Policies and Procedures
The policies and procedures mandated in this handbook have been put in place to set clear expectations between parents and the daycare authorities.
Operating Hours:
- Normal operating hours will be from 9:00 A.M to 6:00 P.M, Monday to Friday.
- The daycare center will be not operational on Saturday – Sunday as well as any public holidays. Parents will be informed in advance of any holidays.
Age level:
- The daycare facility will only accept children aged between 1-5 years.
Admission Policy:
- We have a limited number of slots available in our daycare center and the we will stop accepting children once all slots have been filled. Slots will be filled on a first-come-first-serve policy.
Attendance:
- If a child is going to be absent, the daycare needs to be notified in advance.
- Daycare In-charge will maintain a daily log book to record information about any absence of a child due to illness and any unusual or special events in the daycare center.
- Parents will be phoned if a child misses more than three days of daycare.
- If after two weeks, the daycare staff is unable to reach the parents, the child will be dismissed from the program.
Food:
- The health and wellbeing of your child is our utmost priority. Since we don’t have a cook/chef on board and children may have special dietary requirements that may not be met with food from outside, we require that all children bring a packed lunch from home.
Child Hygiene:
- Please make sure that you drop off your child in a neat and clean outfit.
- Our center has been carefully designed to ensure that it is a safe, comfortable environment that will accommodate the abilities and needs of all children. Our goal is to promote good health, safety and nutrition.
- Staff will ensure that a child’s hands are washed before meals and snacks, after visiting the toilet etc.
Behaviour Guidance:

Parents will be notified in case a child is having difficulty adjusting to the daycare.
- Inevitably there will be occurrences of inappropriate behavior. It is at these times that there may be a need for intervention by the care giver.
Pick and Drop:

Parents will have to sign in their child at the time of drop-off and sign out at the time of pick-up.
- Parents and other personnel authorized by the parents will be able to pick up the child. In case any other person is going to pick up the child, the daycare needs to be informed in advance.
- ID card of parents will be required at the time of pick-up/drop-off for verification purposes.
- When a child is dropped daycare in charge will note the time in and note any observations about the child.
Emergency Evacuation:
- Emergency evacuation drills will be carried our periodically in order to ensure that in case of any emergency, children know what to do.
Child’s likes and dislikes:
- The parent is responsible for informing the daycare Incharge about their child's preferences.
First Aid Kit:
- A first-aid kit containing an assortment of adhesive bandages, sterile gauze pads, tweezers, tape, scissors and disposable, nonporous gloves etc. will be available at the daycare.
- In case of illness and injury, the parents will be informed immediately.
Health Information:
- We require the updated medical report of the child at the time of admission in case of any existing ailments.
- If Manager allows admission an ill child, the Manager should receive the instructions from the parent for overall care of the child to assure that the child’s needs for rest, attention and administration of medication are met.
Communication Policy:
- Parents are welcome to drop in and observe the program at any time.
- If consultation with the child care provider is desired, please let us know ahead of time so that the child care provider can give you their undivided attention.
- Telephonic communication is encouraged.
